While gender-specific mentorship programs are vital, they may not address all the unique challenges faced by women in tech. Intersectionality – considering how aspects of a person's social and political identities combine to create different modes of discrimination and privilege – is essential. Programs that also acknowledge and cater to the diverse experiences of women of color, LGBTQ+ women, and women with disabilities are crucial for providing genuinely inclusive support.
