Sasha Rosenbaum is a Sr. Manager on the Managed OpenShift Black Belt (MOBB) team at Red Hat, where she is helping enterprise customers successfully migrate to managed OpenShift on customers’ favorite public cloud.
In her career, Sasha has worked in development, operations, consulting, and cloud architecture. Sasha is an organizer of DevOpsDays Chicago, a chair of DeliveryConf, and a published author.
Especially for the WomenTech Network, Sasha agreed to give an interview and share her story.
Are you excited to be among the speakers at the WomenTech Global Conference 2021 and what motivated you to join our community of 100 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
I am looking forward to speaking at WomenTech Global Conference 2021, and I am excited about my topic, Mindset. My talk is based on scientific research and my personal journey, and is dedicated to empowering folks to achieve great results in their careers, and be happier while achieving them.
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I've been in tech for a little over 15 years, and in that time I've held jobs in Software Development, Operations, Customer Success (Technical Sales) and Developer Relations. I believe in being open to new opportunities and career changes since the high-tech world develops so rapidly that many of the job titles I've held did not exist when I graduated college.
I have a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology, one of the top CS departments in the world, and I am currently finishing an MBA degree at Jack Welch Management Institute. I am happy that my education has opened career opportunities for me, but I believe we should remove the barriers of entry, and enable folks from different backgrounds to build a successful career in tech.
Who would you advise to attend the Global Conference and why?
I believe this conference is a great opportunity for under-represented groups in tech to come together and discuss common challenges and potential solutions. I think that women, minorities and allies from all over the world at all levels of technical experience would benefit from participating in the conference.
