Are you excited to be among the speakers at the WomenTech Global Conference 2021 and what motivated you to join our community of 100 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
I am extremely excited and honored to be selected as a speaker at the WomenTech Conference this year. I was motivated to join the community to connect with other women in tech who are driving change in their industries but also facing similar challenges. I think the pandemic has been a challenge for working moms, negatively impacting the gender equality gains we’ve made in the last decade. This community and conference is an important one for women in tech, providing an opportunity for us to share our stories of struggle, perseverance, and strength.
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been intrigued by marketing. I loved the idea of connecting with people through creativity and design. I was around twelve when I started creating my own ads with paper and pencil crayons. It was in my twenties when I landed my first marketing job, entering data into an integrated revenue database. Definitely not the typical marketing job – but it intersected my love of marketing with technology. I soon learned that this was my superpower.
My career veered into different marketing roles but came back full circle a number of years later. I was building marketing algorithms with data and launching a marketing automation platform at an enterprise company, and I felt home again. It was then, that I ended up doing some of the greatest work of my career – being added to the Marketo Fearless 50 list and being recognized as one of the top marketers in the world.
Throughout my career, I have struggled with pursuing perfection, and I observed others struggling as well. I have noticed the pursuit of perfection negatively impacting not only individuals, but teams and organizations. My talk at this year’s conference walks you through my observations, learnings, and ways we can all break free from the pursuit of perfection.
Who would you advise to attend the Global Conference and why?
This conference is pulling together the hearts and minds of some really talented individuals. There are so many diverse set of speakers from all around the globe, it’s a truly unique and exciting experience. What I appreciate is that many of the speakers have unique stories and perspectives from the tech community. This isn’t a rollcall of the same speakers you see at every other conference. I would advise anyone who is looking to get inspired and connect with some truly brilliant people, to register for the Global Conference today.
Reserve your spot at WomenTech Global Conference in June 2021 to enjoy Nadia's talk "The Pursuit of Perfection: Why it's Killing You and Your Team", and learn from other inspiring speakers.
