For more than 20 years, Suba has successfully led teams in various areas such as strategy, operations, analytics, customer support, and trust & safety. She has also played a crucial role in the growth of key Meta organizations worldwide, formerly known as Facebook. Prior to this, she provided valuable advice to clients from diverse industries, including technology, education, and government, while working at KPMG's Advisory Services practice. In the early stages of her career, she worked as a journalist for 5 years.
Suba currently holds the position of Vice President in Meta's Global Operations org. She is responsible for leading various functions including analytics, tooling, and operational & strategy. In her previous role, Suba headed the Business Integrity & Platform Operations org at Facebook where she focused on building trust between users and businesses on the platform. At Facebook, Suba holds the position of Executive Sponsor for multiple Women's business resource groups. Recently, Suba introduced a comprehensive mentoring platform for the group in 2021.

Equity for marginalized and under-represented groups has always been one of my great passions. Therefore when I came across Women in Tech's Global Conference, it was the perfect opportunity to continue to role model, help and serve our community. The power of such communities is important, lasting & can reshape the future!
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction.
I grew up in India where my father took me into his workplace one day and showed me one of their early computers. I remained fascinated as I heard about his day-to-day "working on a computer" in the 70s. Eventually, I obtained a computer engineering degree, worked as a journalist, then decided to follow my own version of the American dream. After a Master's in MIS here from Texas A&M, I stumbled into a career in Risk Consulting/Compliance with KPMG. And a decade later, I joined Meta. But with every single decade, I saw the world of technology hit a new inflection point, a significant pivot... and with it came the need to have a policy, business, trust & safety, and a scale mindset.
Why is the topic “Building trust among diverse leaders and groups” important to you?
I've had the honor and privilege of leading very diverse groups of people at various stages of my career. Diversity is beautiful in that it elevates us through different voices & ways of thinking. But we are humans and trust is earned among any group of people. I've continued to dedicate my time towards building trust among diverse leaders and groups as that ultimately pays off in the most enduring possible way for any company.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
Everyone! Women of course but allies are always important. No matter where you are on your learning, inclusion or general leadership learning journey, come join us! Tech evolves quickly and learning how to operate in and lead through each evolution is important.
