Session: How to apply engineering principles to leadership
The rigor of being trained in an engineering or tech field gives us a good foundation to become better leaders, whether in a tech company or not. In this talk, I will outline a few principles that you can adapt from your prior technical roles as you move into more strategic positions. In my own career, I moved from being a software engineer to managing the technology, finance and operations of my organization. I will explain what worked for me, what my challenges were, and what solutions I came up with that helped me to get comfortable in a leadership role.
