Gayatri Iyengar Bio
I'm Gayatri Iyengar, and I serve as the Head of Engineering, Logistics, and Growth at Doordash. I absolutely thrive on problem solving, building, creating and growing high performance teams. One of the things that brings me immense joy is guiding and supporting immensely talented engineers and leaders, helping them transform their careers and pursue their true passions.Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of focusing on building marketplaces that involve multiple participants with distinct goals. It all began when I started building algorithmic financial trading platforms, where I leveraged technology to bring efficiency, speed, and accessibility to our financial markets. From there, I delved into the realm of digital banking, developing consumer apps that made banking more convenient for users. Over the years, I've dedicated myself to the logistics, marketplace, and delivery space, finding great satisfaction in tackling the challenges they present.
When I'm not immersed in work, you can find me indulging in my creative side through art, cherishing quality time with my wonderful family and two kids, meticulously cataloging the multitude of house plants I've acquired during the pandemic, and exploring the great outdoors through hiking. I have had prior experiences speaking at multiple conferences ( Lesbians who Tech, Women Impact Tech, CTO Connections, Google Women in Tech Conference, GHC to name a few) and write my own substack!
