The Returnship Program is a paid 16-week, 100% virtual opportunity available to candidates who are returning to their professional career after experiencing 1 or more years of unemployment and/or underemployment. The successful candidate must meet all of the basic qualifications of this position and can reside anywhere within the United States.

Key job responsibilities
Software Development Managers at Amazon are expected to quickly understand organizational and product goals while being able to map them to project deliverables. They must be able to divide tasks across a team and manage team execution. They are fully responsible for the day to day operations of the team and held to a high standard on the quality of product produced and the quality of ongoing support and maintenance provided to our customers. They must build effective teams, organizational structure and hire and develop the best talent to execute on their vision.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent)
. 7+ years of software development experience
· 5+ years of people management experience
· 2+ years experience planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software
· Hands-on experience with design and development of highly scalable web services and systems.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
· 1+ year of current unemployment or underemployment
· Upon successful completion of the Returnship Program, candidates may receive, but are not guaranteed, an offer for full-time employment. Offers for full-time employment are contingent upon business need and the candidate’s advance commitment to relocate, if necessary, to within commuting distance of the assigned office location Relocation assistance is provided for full-time employment opportunities.
· Returnship candidates should not currently be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
For Applicants based in Colorado: The pay range for this position in Colorado is $75/hr. Our range of benefits may include health care, employee discounts, 401(k) savings plans, paid time off, and more. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
