So I start to share my screen. So um like the topic of the session was um like uh the hero journey or something from seo to contemporary artist and how can art career can feel a business one?Uh When I uh suggested this topic to women in tech community, it was pretty clear to me uh what to tell. But when I start to make presentation, I was thinking a lot about what actually you guys may expect and uh what available insights I can bring to you. So uh feel free to ask any kind of questions to chat. And I will be very glad if someone from women and tech team could support me while reading them because I can't see someone. So things you may expect during this uh journey, it's like some kind of hero journey, productivity bills and um creativity boosters uh which you can use even you if you don't have your own art can here. It still works. So a little bit about myself. Um As you see, I have done a lot during my life and um like, I'm a serial career shifter with 17 years of experience. I've started my career with uh managing out racing championships.
And today, I'm in charge of marketing strategy at two tech companies, uh service fund and product plan and my personal area of study things that help us to live full life, just um enjoy your life uh and live in scale. So, um here's come my hero's journey part, uh some of you that are from the same part of the world as me. Uh Eastern Europe May. Uh So this kind of stuff on your street uh in early nineties. And so I was born 38 years ago in a country where culture, art and creativity have worked only towards propaganda and politics. And maybe if you heard about this country, it's called US R and uh when I started my school, uh it was like very high level of poverty and crime and most of people were trying to become some kind of salespersons to deliver goods which were forbidden in the US sr and there was no room for art and creativity just for anyone because it would definitely mean that you would be very poor and do have nothing to eat.
So I entered Technical University, got my master degree in Applied Science and I was extremely focusing on making a career earning money. And uh still there was no time and place uh for an art or something like this. So um when I became almost 30 I got my first burnout and uh a friend of mine, um she was coach and uh he was uh helping me to recover. And uh that's how idea of art came into my life. Uh I remember this story very clear. So we're creating some kind of like a mind map of uh possible opportunities uh of and our next career journeys I could enter. And there was a lot of um uh ideas which required some kind of drawing skills, fashion, design, illustration or interior design. And in those very moment I understood that actually, art and uh drawing, painting, whatever was a part of me since I was a child. Because uh I was uh my first books were for books of famous artists like Picasso or whatever because my mom has loved art very much. And uh I felt that it's like connection to my son, to my dream from my childhood. So I uh entered a private art school and my classes ran till midnight on Wednesday and they dedicated half of my weekdays uh to practice art. Uh So I run a course at Central Saint Matres University. It's one of the best uh art schools.
It's located in London and I quit my agency career at Ogilvy. Uh I quit for my c level position and run my interior design studio. Actually, I failed with it. I gave birth to my sons and started my career in it. So for the last 12 years, actually, art has supported me and navigated me through the more ST times of my life and basically uh painting, it's a part of the art I'm doing energized me and it's real flow state for me. So two years ago, I moved to Cyprus. It's an island in the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, between east and west literary. And I decided to make my art more public. Uh I became a client of mine because I'm a marketer. So um and have started to think about uh value proposition I have for my spectacles or clients or customers. Uh Actually what my painters are about. What is the story behind? How can I make it more clear? What's the value for them? Not for me. So today I have collaborations uh I have projects I have already for exhibitions and I work towards more exhibition. I have made my first art workshop. So I have my first art publication and uh the most valuable thing I have relevant network. So people who also do art or creative stuff and we collaborate, we support each other.
Uh I've even co-founded here in Cyprus uh Baas women artist community to promote women artists because it's pretty difficult uh to be like stand alone artist and radio group, it's much easier um to support each other. So, on this stage, I stop to talk about myself and I will share with you how art or any kind of relevant activity can actually support your core business. What I mean? The relevant. So you all do some kind of valuable and interesting business part of doing things, but we all have something not related with business. So some of us and now my life, gardening, hiking, whatever or even art and actually doing um very different activities makes us more powerful uh persons and more powerful in terms of um our core business and core career as well. Uh So uh uh let's talk about energy. So to make a career uh journey possible, we need energy and do things we have never done before. It sounds like pretty obvious. Uh But um let's imagine our energy like a fuel. So our energy is like a fuel for a car and the fuel price goes up today. And uh as we become older, uh actually is the price we pay for being exhausted and less energized uh is much higher than when we are younger.
So um in 2015 P Casse introduced the vitality quad concept. It's like we may all have heard about intellectual uh quad and emotional quad and it's pretty same stuff, but in terms of energy we have and how much life literally we have inside of us. So this kind of quent, it is uh indicate actually the energy we own now and it influences our emotional coin intelligence quad. And today, this kind of area of study is a part of business strategy and leadership course, almost all over the world because it's like core and baseline for any kind of predict issue. So let me give you some examples. You see some numbers uh here, but I will make it even more clear to you. So uh zero means like a coma state. So you're like uh almost dead. Uh So you can literally do nothing. And uh if some of you had depression state, uh it's pretty similar uh and up to 30% stands for routines and predictability. So that's like manufacturing works and it's like um any kind of algorithm or so you have step by step process, you need to follow and there is no uh place for change or something. And uh on uh 45% motivation occurs.
So people normally start to accept changes and they start to have their own will to do something maybe to start to act differently or to propose new ideas. And that's uh where uh changes inside organization normally start to happen. I mean, like physically, uh it's very difficult for us to accept changes and make changes if we don't have enough energy inside. And um everything starts from 65% is needed for cross functionality and leadership. So it's actually where we need to operate today when we live in a world. So there is a war happening in Ukraine, there was a pandemic. I don't know what else may happen. So she things are changing pretty fast and we need to track our energy level, uh we need to stay um energized and uh in touch uh to keep things fresh and to keep things worked. So, uh to have enough energy, we need to combine those activities, which it demands and which rewards. Let me explain. It's like very, very straightforward concept. So there is uh something even in our routines and daily duties which reve us. For example, some people like leaning, some, not uh some people uh like reading other note. So it's very important to uh track yourself and um understand which works for you. Uh someone I don't know, feel very empowered after meditation session as are needed to very high intensive workout.
And uh also the rounds that uh demands energy and they don't reward us and it's pretty normal uh because um not everything is very pleasant in this life. So we need to track this balance if we do something which uh reveals us after that, we can plan something which demands a lot of energy and it won't pay us back in a very straightforward way. And after that, we need to uh do something which uh one more time refill us and uh balance this kind of stuff. So in terms of you would have some kind of glass of water. It's pretty similar. You always need to have a full glass of water. If you drink something, you need to add something. So why I'm putting this information here? It's very uh simple. So for any change uh in, in a haircut or something, we need to do an extra effort and this uh actually demands energy and uh you need to be, to say productive, but to do it in non burnout manner and you need to be innovative enough uh find opportunities. Uh And that's what is creativity about. So according to uh coach, uh leaders, uh so people who invited coach uh Jim Lower and Tony Schwartz uh to stay productive. We need to balance between physical brain, mental and spiritual activity.
So it means we need to have some kind of workout or physical activity, walking, whatever during the day, we need to load our brain with some, I don't know, intellectual stuff and we need to tell our mental health and uh we need to have uh some value behind what we're doing. So some reason behind and uh this means that we need to shift uh these activities during the day. Uh So personally, I try to combine them mm just in my schedule. So I start early in the morning. I do some brain activity after that, I do online work out after that. I do something dedicated to emotional and bound with my team or something like this. And I have my brain activity after that, I have small workout just walking out of the uh to the street for a dinner. Uh And um uh that helps me to stay productive during the day. But at the end of the day, I don't feel exhausted. So uh what works here? It's like split micro goals for monthly task and weekly subtext. It sounds very um uh straightforward and easy. But the idea behind uh is uh pretty similar. So uh making baby steps and celebrating them and tracking them and combine them in some monthly tasks allow us to move towards some big achievements we want.
And it's very important to embed all important uh all art of yours like physical, emotional, mental and spiritual in your calendar and um embed your future goals with a small or baby steps, how we call it and track this baby step progress. Now, I will share a very easy to use technique with you. So for example, if you plan to, I don't know, buy an apartment or studying new language, uh it's like very big goal and when you need to do your home task and you know, some kind of test while studying your language, sometimes it could be boring. And so uh here works. Uh the technique which allows you to and get in touch in the re was a result. So describing your situation at the very start. So OK, I'm here. I need to do a test and uh uh I open my textbook, I now need to fill all the answers and I will receive my result. And this result helped me to understand uh which part of language I already know and feel comfortable with and which area I need to improve. And this allows your brain in you to track step by step. All the small things you do to achieve your big results.
So um to start something new, we need more energy and to act differently. And um uh the idea behind is uh the every any kind of combination of something uh unusual gives you some additional power. So like experience creates uh unique patterns. I will give you a story. Uh Not this one. But those I have in my notes. Uh So um I have a friend of mine, our colleague, uh she hears a design. So he is an artist who was raised in Canada. And uh now he's widely exhibited all over the world. And his artist started from a challenge uh self punishment. Actually, in 2016, he was a cleric at law firm and he needed to spend a lot of time near his computer because of his work and it was boring. So he started uh and the starting point of his uh hero's journey uh that on January 1st, uh he has made a promise to type in one set like I see it and it 2015 symbols uh in a word document while Doom. This can be stood short enough. He go further, he apart symbols. He has start to use colors 15 shades only in those days. And the time passed, he became a digital artist. Now he created this uh board art in Microsoft Word. Literally, he prints 50 pieces and deletes everything because the patient to improve is very high. And uh while practicing this kind of art, uh he transferred his patterns to a cupboard making process. So now he do Microsoft Word Art.
And after that, this art is printed in uh just like document and it's recreated in a carpet. And um due to his uh extreme, unusual way of perceiving because he is a lawyer, he follows the rules, he follows strict rules. He fits the patterns, he could combine this with an art. And this gave a totally new perspective for Microsoft Word or limitations and rethinking about this. Uh So um it actually boost his career and um mm the last thing I wanted to share with you just uh before uh we will skip the uh Q and A session. Uh It's like some very, I don't know uh basic uh value of uh making any kind of art just because I'm like an art promoter. Uh It's my area of study and uh things me. So making like art workshops. I just, and I create any kind of art. So you can do it in paint, in, you know, with pencils and markers, whatever. So it allows to focus on what you're doing instead of what you're thinking about. So it's like a meditation, but you're doing something you may experience pretty the same things if you uh for example, I don't know, make some kind of cro it or cooking some difficult uh pastries or whatever.
So and art helps, don't block your um part in the brain, it's called amygdala uh and power your ne cortex. So, from uh being in your emotional thoughts, you transfer uh yourself to some kind of decision making. And the study shows that just 45 minutes of creti creative activity can reduce your stress and regardless of your Arctic experience or talent, and what does it mean? So given just an hour of any kind of art activity decrease of stress prevents burnout. So it's like walking to heavy or 10,000 hits per day. And also study shows that art therapy and drawing in general can minimize anxiety and combat just negative mood uh which leads to predict toity increasing and creativity increasing as well.
