Job Description:

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings):  Security Engineer II.   Analyzing and implementing tools to strengthen Akamai’s security posture and doing studies on detective, preventative technologies; Building proof of concept security control prototypes within the scope provided by the security leader and engineers; Automating security controls and deployment across Akamai Compute's cloud infrastructure; Triaging and analyzing vulnerabilities submitted by Security Researchers through the HackerOne bug bounty program and other sources; Analyzing, monitoring, and automating external attack surface, threats, and developing mitigation solutions to protect Akamai Compute’s services; Implementing, maintaining, and improving the accuracy of existing automation tools to help reduce false positives; and Instilling a secure-bydesign culture throughout the entire company by educating security best practices. Required Qualification:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or Cyber Security Engineering.

Completion of a university level course, thesis, project, or internship involving the following: vulnerability testing and management; cloud services; GCP; denial-of-service testing; and security testing.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $102,973 - $154,614/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
