Although privacy laws emphasize data anonymity and user consent, they do not explicitly combat gender bias in AI. By anonymizing data, the laws aim to protect individual privacy but overlook how anonymized data can still perpetuate gender stereotypes when used to train AI systems. Consequently, there's a need for regulations that go beyond anonymity to ensure fairness and equity in AI.
