Current privacy laws often address data protection in general terms, failing to specifically tackle the nuances of gender bias in AI. While these laws focus on consent, data minimization, and purpose limitation, they rarely address the underlying algorithms and training data that lead to gender bias. Therefore, a more targeted approach is necessary to ensure AI systems are developed and used in a manner that is free from gender discrimination.
