Are you excited to be among the speakers at the Women in Tech Global Conference 2022 and what motivated you to join our community of 100 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
I'm so excited! I saw this as an opportunity to join and network with so many amazing women leaders.
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I have a journalism background and knew early on during college that I wanted to do a non-traditional journalism role that leveraged my journalism skills. I started off my career at a messaging startup in Silicon Valley founded by one of the first 10 employees at Google in a marketing and PR role.
I then moved to SlideShare (which had already been acquired by LinkedIn), where I was able to write often and use news judgment when curating content. It was my first experience being in an editorial role at a tech company, and I'm so thankful I found this opportunity because it really helped to inform the career path I'm on now. I ended up being at LinkedIn for 6 years on various teams (helping to launch the Daily Rundown while on assignment in Hong Kong, and then later moving to the Special Projects team where I hosted and created the popular #FemaleFounders video series, created our editorial social media strategy, and contributed to the LinkedIn Lists franchise).
I joined Prezi in Oct. 2019 as its first editorial hire, where I've built out a team focused on collaborating with business professionals and educators to create amazing Prezi content that we feature to our millions of users.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
I believe the WomenTech Global Conference would be most beneficial to anyone who wants to further their career, and to anyone who loves to learn. There are an amazing number of sessions and topics being covered by a diverse group of speakers. There is something here for everyone!
