Joanne Flack Bio
Joanne is a senior legal leader at multicloud solutions expert, Rackspace Technology - a publicly listed (NASDAQ: RXT) $4.3B technology company, with over 7,000 employees and 140,000 customers (including over half of the FORTUNE® 100).
Joanne is an experienced global technology and corporate legal executive. She has over 15 years of in-depth specialized skill and knowledge in the global technology sector, working in private practice and in-house, throughout concentrating in particular on the information technology sector. She has been recognized for her Innovative Leadership In-house by Corporate Counsel's Women, Influence & Power in Law awards; and as a Top 10 30-Something by the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Joanne is responsible for all global (Americas, EMEA & APJ) supply chain, alliances & partnerships, solutions & services, technology, customer success, marketing & communications, and intellectual property legal affairs of the Rackspace Technology group - including related dispute management. This includes legal management of the strategic partner relationships which form the foundation of Rackspace Technology's multicloud business (including Amazon AWS, Microsoft, Google & VMWare); all supply chain contracting; and the development of Rackspace Technology's portfolio of leading end-to-end multicloud solutions. She leads and manages a team of twelve legal professionals. At Rackspace Technology, Joanne has previously worked in a variety of other areas within the legal department, including both Americas and International (EMEA & APAC) sales, handling transactions over $100m in value.
Joanne is a US licensed attorney (Washington State bar), and also a solicitor in England & Wales. She is an experienced privacy professional (IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy - FIP, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/T, CIPP/M). She obtained her undergraduate degree from the prestigious Russell Group University of Sheffield, her Graduate Diploma in Law and Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Law, and her Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford. Joanne trained with top 15 global law firm Eversheds Sutherland LLP. Joanne is currently an MBA candidate (due 2021) at Imperial College London, where she is the Dean's Excellence Award Scholar.
Outside of work, Joanne is a PADI Master Instructor (having founded and operated a UK scuba diving training school), technical and cave diver; a black belt in karate and former competitive kickboxer; a music lover and drummer; and a hiking and outdoors enthusiast.
