Our Edge Platform, one of the world's largest. It consists in 360,000+ servers across 135 countries. The Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global platform. We design, develop and deploy the hardware, software and network infrastructure. We ensure consistent availability and performance for our customers.

Partner with the best

Deploy server clusters and remotely diagnose hardware problems. Facilitate server repairs, manage Akamai's hardware assets and interact with datacenter and ISPs staff. Manage a team of field technicians and work closely with external partners and internal teams!

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Managing projects for server deployments and network installations through collaboration with cross-functional technical team;
• Managing remote hardware assets and diagnosing switch and router problems to ensure stability of Akamai platform;
• Attending service incident meetings to provide guidance on restoring services;
• Recruiting, training and mentoring of new engineers and technicians to share knowledge and up-skill your team.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols
• Have proficiency in layer 2 and a good understanding of layer 3
• Be comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix environment
• Have experience in a data center environment
• Show expertise and hands-on technical experience configuring switches and managing routers
