Purpose of the Role:

To produce high quality scientific content of medical communications that satisfy client needs in terms of quality, commercial focus, timing and cost.

Supervisory Relationships:

Team Leader, inScience Communications, Japan.

Responsibilities:

  • Project delivery: To write and edit manuscripts, congress posters and slides either in English or Japanese, according to international guidelines, as well as client needs, deadline, budget and internal quality standards, as directed by the team leader.
  • Business Planning/commercial: To contribute to strategic publication plans and communications programs, where appropriate or when requested from clients.
  • Financial: To monitor own adherence to budget and utilization rate; To record and monitor actual time spent on a project against budgeted time, and complete timesheets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Organisational and team work: To support team working principles and collaboration within the project management team in inScience Communications, sales/Operations/Editorial team in Springer Healthcare and wider inScience Communications Group.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven medical writing experience (>1 year) in a medical communications agency or the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry OR 3 years as a researcher (e.g. Post doc), writing experiences of own manuscripts
  • Skills: [Essential] Proven medical writing skills and able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; Excellent verbal and written communication skills [Japanese (Native) & English (Business) or English (Native) & Japanese (Business)]; Proven experience and confident in interacting with clients and medical experts; A proactive and flexible team player with a collaborative approach; Proven organisation/time management skills with the ability to be proactive and use your initiative to get results; Highly computer literate with good working knowledge of common software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite) and gains new software skills quickly

Qualifications:

[Essential] Life science degree, [Desirable] Higher degree (MSc or PhD)
