About the role

The Educational Sales Consultant will be responsible for achieving sales growth and driving brand awareness of the Macmillan Education blended learning portfolio throughout Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Driven, commercially aware, with strong consultative sales skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service, you will build and maintain strong relationships with local representatives, key distributors, schools, Ministries of Education and other educational organisations for girls.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and is located in our Riyadh office on a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will have strong academic or teaching background, with an awareness of educational products and solid sales and influencing skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieve sales targets and drive sales growth and opportunities for all Macmillan Education products throughout Saudi Arabia
  • Travel to priority territories and align visiting strategies with planned product promotions and developments
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including local representatives, key distributors, schools, Ministries of Education and other Educational Organisations throughout the region
  • Ensure CRM system and a database of teachers, Ministry of Education officers, country booklists and regional educational developments are updated regularly
  • Support key accounts with digital implementation
  • Conduct local market research and analyse sales data to identify market trends, new opportunities and partnerships, and additional revenue streams
  • Provide timely customer service for all contacts in the territory and follow up on all potential leads
  • Ensure that all sampling, publicity and online training support requirements for the territory are met
  • Use sales data and market knowledge to assist in the forecasting process for Business Plan and re-forecasting throughout the year
  • Abide by all company rules and regulations relating to and not limited to statutory obligations, ethics and code of conduct

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Fluent English is a must, written and spoken
  • Academic/teaching background with knowledge of educational products
  • Strong consultative sales skills with a commercially astute mindset
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Driven and proactive attitude, self-motivated and highly organised
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Solid numeracy and market research skills
  • Ability to work well in a small team but also to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Driving licence and the ability to travel a few times a month

Desirable

  • Experience in a consultative sales role with demonstrable examples of sales achievements, preferably within the education sector
  • Knowledge and experience of the publishing industry and digital content delivery preferable
  • Good knowledge of Macmillan Education products would be a bonus
