Job Title: Business Performance Analyst

Location(s): Dordrecht or London – Hybrid Working Model

About the Role

1. Support the strategy development and implementation for Submissions & Author Service - Transfers  and Research Integrity RIG teams
2. Support both teams with operational numbers and operational needed insights
3. Support with generating the annual strategic budget distribution plan to meet the business needs of each department 4. Help translate SAS and RIG strategy in operational and financial planning and guide the 
execution of it
 

Role Responsibilities:

1. Support the strategy development and implementation for Submissions & Author Service - Transfers  and Research Integrity RIG teams

• Support both teams with operational numbers and operational needed insights
• Support with generating the annual strategic budget distribution plan to meet the business needs of each department
• Help translate SAS and RIG strategy in operational and financial planning and guide the execution of it

2. Establish Reporting, Dashboards, Controls and Alignment infrastructure

• Define and align reporting requirements that support the defined strategy
• Establish a recurring alignment/meeting structure with the SAS and RIG management team to evaluate the status and resolve issues at the SAS and RIG MT level

3. Operational & financial management and reporting

• Work with Directors to establish costs and operational annual team budgets for SAS and RIG
• Track and report the financial performance of RIG and SAS and analyze the gaps and the reasons behind
• Establish and continuously report on operational activities, variations to budget and possible mitigation actions to improve further
• Develop business cases and financially manage those after approval Key Requirements

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in business Analytics, Finance, Data Science or related field. Masters preferred
• 5+ years of experience in Business Performance or Business Control Analysis, preferably within publishing industry
• Proficiency in English
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL and Looker or similar tool. Python knowledge an additional plus
• Experience with financial and operational data, including budgeting, forecasting and building business cases
• Expertise in establishing standard operating procedures
• Logical and able to detect anomalies easily
• Structured, independent, and critical thinker I will conduct business in accordance with Springer Nature’s Code of Conduct and raise any questions or concerns with my Manager, HR, or Compliance.
