Your opportunity
As a Senior Product Manager, Change Tracking, you will be defining and driving the product strategy for New Relic's change tracking and management features to ensure that customers can use New Relic to swiftly isolate and diagnose problems stemming from system modifications and ultimately reduce the mean time to detection and resolution of issues.

The team you will be joining is customer-obsessed with a highly collaborative and open culture that values innovation, honesty, and mutual respect for everyone. You will thrive if you are comfortable using experiments and rapid iteration to address ambiguity, value growth, and adaptation, use data and customer feedback to shape narratives while supporting the health of a $1 billion+ business, and are motivated to create stellar products that change the observability industry and how engineers solve problems.

What you'll do
  • Define and drive our change tracking, management, integration, automation, and visualization product strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership on building customer-centric systems that can swiftly identify changes, their impact, responsible parties, and remediation approaches, using automation where possible.
  • Collaborate extensively with both external and internal customers to provide a streamlined change analysis experience, researching market trends and technologies to ensure we are paving the way for our change tracking platform to be a leader in the space.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide business context, clear guidance, and success criteria for the product, including outcomes related to revenue generation.
  • Develop a near-term and long-term roadmap, drive the alignment of key releases to deliver on the roadmap, and adjust the roadmap based on key results, customer demand, and changes in execution resources.
  • Develop and iterate on processes and practices that keep your team (engineers, designers) focused and performing efficiently.
  • Define and collaborate with marketing, sales, and finance on the go-to-market plan.
  • Willingly jump in and be hands-on, delivering alongside design and engineering partners while building the team.

Example problems you’ll focus on:
  • Improve cross-account or org-level for querying change tracking so customers can filter all their changes in one place.
  • Enable tracking of changes within browser micro-frameworks to identify UI changes by individual teams and UI components.
  • Visualize and manage large-scale, multi-step changes (e.g., large Terraform updates) effectively.
  • Develop and maintain integration points with various deployment and infrastructure as code solutions (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
  • Enhance rendering of change events on charts for improved clarity and density management.
  • Support targeting of entity-less change events, allowing customers to designate broader targets (e.g., entire production environments).
  • Implement starting and ending points for change events for better visualization.
  • Integrate change tracking with popular tools such as Slack and New Relic CLI.
  • Link pre-production and production events to monitor and correlate performance, helping customers tie system changes to business metrics.

This role requires
  • 3-5 years of SaaS and cloud-based software product management experience.
  • 5+ years working closely with engineering teams in any capacity to solve complicated customer problems.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with the ability to explain complex technical design in 20 seconds or 20 minutes, depending on the audience and goals.
  • Ability to combine data-driven approaches with strong user empathy to determine what/when/why to ship – we're building a platform for products that ingest millions of change events per month.
  • Confidence in navigating ambiguous and vague problem definitions and the ability to refine them into an actionable plan.
  • Experience in driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
  • Demonstrated strong ownership and execution skills.
  • Experience creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams.
  • You are a self-starter with experience leading teams through influence rather than authority.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and ability to translate those needs into actionable product plans.

Bonus points if you have
  • An operational experience managing change tracking or configuration changes as an operator or product manager for enterprise companies.
  • Experience in the observability, CI/CD, or software tooling industries.
  • Ability to operate successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization.
