Session: Using individuality and purpose for impactful careers
Three years ago, I made a decision to change careers. I had spent more than 14 years successfully working in the aerospace industry as a program management expert but needed a new challenge that was more closely aligned to the impact I wanted to make and the personal meaning my work gave me. I joined the Larta Institute, a nonprofit that nurtures scientific and technology innovation to solve some of the biggest challenges faced by humanity and our planet. In doing so, I’ve taken my innate passion and drive to align my purpose and my skillset with my work that I do at Larta and with up-and-coming innovators and entrepreneurs, so that they can also reach their full potential and purpose.
I want to share my personal and professional journey with the Women in Tech audience so that can learn from my nearly 17-year career what they need to be successful and how to bring purpose into their careers. In my talk, I will share:
- Understanding your life’s purpose, why it matters and how to find and define it
- Recognizing your unique talents and individuality and tips on how to practice it
- Strategies and methods that will help you align passion and purpose in your career
- Looking at the “big picture” and determining how you as an individual can help make an impact
