Session: Getting out of your comfort zone
Being a woman in tech I understand how challenging it might seem at the beginning to pursue a career in tech space, I come from a small town in India and only thing that has helped me succeed is taking on challenges by getting out of my comfort zone. I would like to share my story with the young girls and women professionals who have been restricting themselves to get out there and follow their passion and interests.
Bio
After completing my undergrad in computer science in 2014 and working for an IT company in India for close to 5 years I decided to pursue master’s from the university of Texas at Dallas. I have always been passionate about women in tech and aim at encouraging women and young girls to break any barrier they might come across. I am currently Vice President at the Women in Technology International UT Dallas chapter and working with the global network to encourage more young girls and women in tech.
My motivation comes from all my past struggles and sacrifices all the women who came before me have made so I can reach here and therefore it’s my responsibility to make the best of it, serve them and the society by contributing towards its betterment.
I hope to have the chance to witness this inspiring celebration of women gathering to learn, share, encourage more women to join tech and grow in technology alongside each other.
