Session: Overcome Obstacles to Sharing Your Voice
As a woman in STEM, you are smart, accomplished, and well-qualified to perform the job you were hired to do. But the reality is that the corporate rules are unwritten. The expectations at work are more than the bullet points written in your job description.
Internal complications may arise including:
- Overcoming imposter syndrome.
- Discomfort sharing ideas when you aren’t prepared.
- Nerves that cause you to mumble, speak fast or in a high-pitched voice, and so on.
Then there are the external hurdles of being:
- Interrupted,
- Ignored, or
- Mansplained.
“Overcoming Obstacles to Sharing Your Voice” is an interactive session that provides pragmatic strategies and best practices for taming internal complications and circumventing the external hurdles that arise.
