Session: Finding Your Balance
Women make up only 25% of the technology industry and after the challenging Covid19 years studies show they are leaving in disproportionate numbers as compared to men, and work life balance is a common stated reason for this. This session will be an interactive look at the statics and discussion on what work life balance really means to the individual and gives guidance on finding each persons balance before they are ready to quit the industry. The session will walk through ways to say No safely and respectively in a work environment and the importance of advocating for oneself.
Bio
Angel Jones has been a technology leader in the cloud and data center industry for over 25 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in IT Business as well as several technical and project management certifications. She recently joined Wipro as General Manager and Sector Delivery Lead for their largest client. Using over two decades of leading and delivering CaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions across federal and commercial industries she manages a global organization of over 3500 people providing a variety of managed IT services and technical staff augmentation. Angel is also an international bestselling co-author of the leadership book, “Significant Women: Leaders Reveal What Matters Most”.
Outside of Wipro Angel is Co-founder and serves on the board of Pop Up Mkt, LLC (www.popupmkt.com), which developed an application to help local small artisans, farmers, and food trucks during the difficult “in person” economy. Angel and her husband also own and operate a winery in New Braunfels, Texas, called Water 2 Wine (www.water2wine.com) where she uses her decades of management, operations, and people skills to successfully run the business and make wine.
Angel spends her down time volunteering to help improve the lives of children and women. She serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Central Texas (www.casacentx.org) which advocates for neglected and abused children in the foster care system to ensure their voices are heard. She also writes a blog at www.managingitall.com, focused on creating a community of support and advice for women trying to balance career, family, and life in general.
