Cecilia Fischer-Benitez Bio
Cecilia is an experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leader, she is currently a Senior Program Manager at Latinas in Tech, a non-profit organization with the mission to connect, support, and empower Latina women working in tech. As a Senior Program Manager, she builds inclusive programs focused on supporting, mentoring, and educating underrepresented communities to advance their careers. Prior to her tenure at Latinas in Tech, Cecilia served as a Program Specialist at Code for America and held corporate positions at Enova and Groupon. With a solid background in Education spanning five years, Cecilia's passion for promoting tech interest among young girls through mentorship revitalized her long-standing fascination, ultimately inspiring her transition to the Tech industry.
Cecilia's dedication to equity and inclusion has garnered recognition, leading to her invitation to serve on the Cook County Council on Digital Equity in Illinois, where she actively addresses issues of digital inequity. Furthermore, she actively contributes to the betterment of society as a member of the Board of Directors for Youth Outlook, a non-profit organization that delivers essential programs and services to LGBTQ+ youth and their families across Northern Illinois. Outside of her professional endeavors, Cecilia enjoys spending time with her twin boys, traveling, hiking, and producing her own podcast, the Chicago Techies Podcast.
