Our Application Security Team, part of the Enterprise Security Group, collaborates with the Development, Product, Support, and Sales Engineering teams to deliver secure, high-quality products and enhance Akamai's product security posture for our customers.

Shape Internet Security

As a Principal Application Security Architect, you will be a key technical expert, working closely with development teams to integrate security into our cloud security offerings. You'll collaborate with a global network of top-tier security professionals to safeguard our enterprise applications.

Your responsibilities as a Principal Application Security Architect will include:

  • Developing security design, policies provide assessments and code reviews for applications, systems, and networks.
  • Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to resolve security issues.
  • Implementing secure design and ensure high standard SSDLC practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry security standards.
  • Mentoring and Providing expert guidance on security principles and best practices and manage incident response
  • Governing the vulnerability management and perform regular security reviews according to regulatory requirements.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8-12 years of relevant experience in Application security.
  • Have a solid understanding of complex distributed architecture and application security in Kubernetes environments.
  • Have knowledge of industry compliance standards like FedRAMP, PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or SOC2
  • Have analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with various security tools (e.g., Wiz, Snyk, Tenable, Black Duck, Coverity, Burp, Fortify, etc.).
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (C, Java, Golang, Lua, Python, JavaScript, Web Services/REST).
  • Be proactive, have an adaptable mindset, be eager to learn new technologies and techniques, and be dedicated to excellence.
