Durga Parameswari Kaza Bio
I, Durga Parameswari Kaza, have a Bachelors in Electronics and Communications Engineering and a Masters in Software Systems. Back in 1999, when the representation of women in STEM fields was minimal, breaking into the industry was quite challenging, I was the first female engineer, and also the first woman to venture out for studies and employment from my family.
My first source of inspiration was my manager, Mrs. Latha Rajagopal, a remarkably strong woman. She was one of the two female leaders in the product-based company, leading design, and technology initiatives at that time. From her, I learned the art of balancing personal and professional commitments, and I've never took a break in my career since.
Another significant inspiration for me is Ms. Hege Skryseth, the former CEO of my company. Her determination, power, and clear vision left me in awe, and she exemplified how women can excel in leadership roles within the business realm. I firmly believe that a strong technical background, coupled with a clear business vision, is essential for sustained success in the tech industry.
Hailing from Madurai, a city in the southern corner of India, now residing in Oslo, a bustling tech hub, I've experienced the challenges, differences, discriminations, and exclusions that women in tech face. Women in tech still have many strides to make in reaching the pinnacle of success.
With a clear vision and motivation, I am on a mission to contribute to this journey of progress.
