SAP Monitoring Team is an Engineering team that develops and supports New Relic’s SAP monitoring Solution Product. The Senior BASIS Administrator will play a critical role within the SAP Monitoring Engineering team, providing expert technical leadership and hands-on support for our complex SAP landscape. This position requires a deep understanding of SAP technologies, AWS cloud infrastructure, and best practices for managing and maintaining a high-performing and secure SAP environment.
What you’ll do
SAP System Administration:
- Manage and maintain 30+ SAP systems across various releases (ECC, S/4HANA) on AWS.
- Proactively monitor system performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities.
- Ensure system security and compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to SAP applications, databases, and operating systems.
AWS Cloud Management:
- Manage and optimize AWS resources consumed by the SAP landscape.
- Implement and maintain cost-effective and scalable cloud solutions.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for all SAP systems.
- Leverage AWS services to enhance SAP performance and functionality.
SAP BTP, cloudALM, and SaaS Account Management:
- Manage and support SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) subscriptions and services.
- Administer cloudALM for development and deployment of SAP solutions.
- Manage and maintain subscriptions to other relevant SaaS applications.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure smooth system operation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 system support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation efforts.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all system configurations and procedures.
- Share knowledge and best practices with the team through presentations, workshops, and other means.
This role requires :
- Proven Experience: 10+ years of experience as a senior-level SAP BASIS administrator.
- SAP Expertise: Deep understanding of SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and related technologies (e.g., SAP HANA, NetWeaver).
- AWS Cloud Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, S3) and experience managing SAP systems on AWS.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in Linux/Unix operating systems, databases (Oracle, SQL Server, HANA), and networking.
- Automation: Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Continuous Learning: A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.
Bonus points if you have :
Experience with SAP Monitoring Tools, such as Solution Manager, FocusedRun, CloudALM, etc.
