Job Summary

The Strategic IC & IO Card Commodity Manager at NetApp will be critical in impacting NetApp’s gross margin performance and influencing NetApp’s storage technology roadmap and sourcing strategies. In this role with high executive visibility, the Strategic IC & IO Card Commodity Manager will lead the procurement of NetApp’s highest spend commodity. This role will work closely with the engineering, product management, supply chain, and finance teams to generate sourcing/procurement strategies aligned with NetApp’s broader corporate goals while considering the complex dynamics related to the storage market and supply base technology requirements. 


The Strategic IC & IO Card Commodity Manager will: 

  • Manage the strategic IC & IO card supply base, including owning the supplier relationships with current and prospective suppliers, ensuring appropriate executive engagement, and executing daily and cyclical operational activities entailed with the IC & IO card commodity.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the strategic IC & IO card market and its supply base. The individual should be able to generate points of view on vendors and market trends.
  • Hold a technical understanding of technologies to derive the relationship between roadmap choices and business outcomes.
  • Craft sourcing & procurement strategies by collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance teams and working through competing priorities.
  • Influence internal and external engineering, product management, and marketing teams on roadmap decisions to target NetApp's business-critical needs, such as supply continuity and competitive cost structures.
  • Capable of presenting and proficiently communicating with executives, including C-Staff, regularly.
  • Conduct cost and volume analysis considering complex tradeoffs and highlighting risks to generate recommendations on multi-million dollar purchases.
  • Negotiate best-in-class pricing and legal terms via agreements such as MSA/MPA, SOW, LTA, LOA, NDA, and IP Dev Agreements.
  • Be the expert for commercial items with your suppliers and products they sell and could sell to NetApp.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement for a technology company or account management/marketing working for a leading memory/storage semiconductor company is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is strong analytically, a master negotiator, possesses practical communication skills, and works well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated track record working with key suppliers in the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record of complex problem solving that required strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Highly skilled with PowerPoint and Excel. Power BI is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires 12 years’ relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Engineering equivalent technical degree. An advanced degree or MBA is preferred.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is 
[$162,270] - [$218,130] and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
