As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for manufacturing process improvements through investment in existing infrastructure and new equipment. You will focus on equipment controls and electrical hardware design. Candidates should have experience with manufacturing equipment design and/or controls engineering.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Support test equipment implementation from purchase through installation.

• Work with manufacturing to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, equipment, and product design.

• Perform troubleshooting activities with manufacturing to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions.

• Identify and deploy breakthrough technologies that can be leveraged to reduce lead time, improve quality, or reduce cost.

• Develop software for PLCs and testing to support new production processes.

• Ensure early focus on manufacturability in product design and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability, controls, and equipment development.

• Monitor and improve productivity using Lean, Six Sigma, process monitoring, or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met with quality product.

• Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance

Qualifications/Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years’ experience or Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting

Desired Characteristics

• Min of 2 years of experience developing equipment hardware and/or controls.

• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and electronic schematics.

• Familiar with Java, LabView or Python.

• Familiar with integrated control schemes with PLCs, HMI and Drives.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.

• Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.

• Displays strong interpersonal skills, is accessible and approachable.
