Reliability Engineer Senior (Network Analytics) - Remote

Our team supports Akamai's global backbone by solving operational challenges through code. This position focuses on gaining a deep understanding of the backbone. That knowledge will help discovering, generating and analyzing complex metrics highlighting the backbone's performance. You will be a critical piece of our ability to take Akamai's backbone to the next scale.

Partner with the best

Network Architecture team at Akamai is responsible for establishing Akamai's position in the global Internet. You will be responsible for discovering ways to enable our engineering and operations teams to better monitor and operate our backbone.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing and supporting systems to aid in the day-to-day responsibilities of Network Architecture and Engineering
• Troubleshooting and enhancing Akamai's backbone
• Being aware of Network Security

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience understanding global, complex, interconnected systems and uncovering critical data required to operate said systems at high availability
• Be able to develop software to gather, analyze, forecast and utilize this data at scale
• Understand operational processes and be able to see the best path for getting critical, concise information into the hands of Ops at the right time
• Have experience with network telemetry software stacks, including metric agents, time-series databases, dashboarding and alerting
• Have knowledge of general Internet network operations including those of Internet and network service providers
