A key barrier to effective negotiation for many women is a lack of confidence. Mentorship provides a space to boost self-assurance by setting and achieving small goals, receiving positive reinforcement, and learning to navigate setbacks constructively. A mentor’s encouragement and belief can be instrumental in building the mentee’s confidence in her negotiation capabilities.
