Women In Tech Toronto
About 150 women got together at the Boundless Women Leadership event which was held in partnership with the WomenTech Global Conference in Toronto at the beautiful Ontario Art Gallery.
The event created an instant sisterhood, a bond of understanding and caring amongst a group of diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences. After a long period of isolation, this event was what we all needed as customers and employees gathered from Bell Canada, Rogers, TELUS, TD Bank, RBC, Scotiabank as well as Women in Tech networks attendees from Equitable Bank, Ernest & Young, Loblaws, Shopify, TikTok Canada, and the partners AWS & VTS.
To kick off the event, Sigal Almog opened with an inspiring, out-of-the-box messaging. She reminded us that this journey to equality is for everyone, men and women alike and though we may feel small, we all have the chance to be MIGHTY. We then had a mind-opening panel with three powerhouses, Sonia Brar from Bell Canada, and Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson and Bana Anvari both from TD Bank. These three trail-blazing women, shared candidly with Idit Duvdevany Aronsohn, their different perspectives and experiences, yet their unity and commitment to work together in creating a more equal future for all.
The event closed with the one-and-only Erin Brockovich whose persistence got a utility giant to pay out the largest toxic injury settlement in US history and inspired the Oscar-winning move in her namesake played by Julia Roberts. Her empowering message about loving oneself and appreciating our uniqueness and ability to make a dent in this world was powerful beyond measure.
The event concluded with a networking cocktail that left everyone wishing for more. It was a great day for women in technology!
