Dr. Cosima Piepenbrock holds the position of Head of Product at the World Economic Forum, where she oversees the development of the Forum's intelligence offerings. She spearheads the product strategy for the Forum's Strategic Intelligence platform (intelligence.weforum.org) and is at the forefront of the Forum's strategy for AI innovation. Additionally, as Head of User Experience, she is in charge of designing and enhancing the user experience for all the Forum's digital products and platforms.

I am very excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference. It is a great honor to be part of such a dynamic and inspiring community that brings together so many women in tech, minorities, and allies.
What motivated me to join this community is the impact it has in fostering diversity and inclusion within the tech industry. As a professional in this industry, I am deeply committed to promoting diversity and creating an inclusive environment. The Women in Tech Global Conference provides a wonderful platform to share experiences and knowledge. It helps us create a supportive network that drives inclusion.

Background and Inspiration
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
My academic journey began in psychology, where my fascination with how cognition and emotions shape our interactions with the world ignited. This curiosity naturally extended to the design of both physical and digital interfaces, leading me to conduct research in the field focusing on how we can optimize the usability of digital interfaces.
After having worked on digital experiences through this very focused lens, I then wanted to look at the bigger picture and strategic landscape of digital innovations. So, I joined Accenture Strategy working as a consultant on digital transformation. Delving into groundbreaking technologies such as AI and uncovering their transformative possibilities fascinated me.
I am very passionate about harnessing technology for positive impact, and this passion steered me to join the World Economic Forum — an organization with a mission to 'improve the state of the world.'
In my current dual role as 'Head of Product' overseeing our AI product suite and 'Head of Experience,' where I ensure we create intuitive, intelligent, and impactful user experiences across our different products, I am living my passion every day. The prospect of leveraging cutting-edge technologies responsibly to foster collaboration and make a positive impact keeps me energized and inspired.

We are living in a world where the dynamics of change are increasingly complex and intertwined. In such an environment, the ability to swiftly learn, adapt, and recalibrate strategies while maintaining strategic focus is crucial.
