Women in Tech Mentoring Program
My name is Palak Talwar and I work as a Sr. Safety Engineer at Lyft, Level 5 Autonomous Division, in Palo Alto, CA.
After my undergrad in India, I did my MS in Control Systems from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After that, I worked for an automotive consulting company - FEV for ~4 years working on control system software development and then on functional safety. At Lyft, I've continued my journey in the safety engineering space. The most challenging part of my job is to define safety processes (both software and hardware) from scratch with no clear mandate on do's and dont's. I also hold an approved patent on Control Redundancy (https://patents.google.com/patent/US10331128). Over the course of my career I've also obtained an ISO 26262 certification. I truly love what I do and therefore I try to share and learn as much as I can.
