In this talk Olena will describe her journey from PhD in biosciences to a software engineering bootcamp to becoming a senior software engineer at Apple. Olena will talk about tips and tricks on how to grow and develop technical expertise via networking, conferences, bootcamps and online courses. Bio
I am a Senior Software Engineer with a non-traditional career path. I have a PhD in Biosciences and I transitioned to engineering via a bootcamp in San Francisco. Most of my engineering career was spent in Silicon Valley where I worked at Apple and Groupon. While working on my career I became a mom of twins. It set me back in my career, but at the same time it allowed me to develop deeper engineering expertise since I stopped the career climb and concentrated on expanding and amplifying my technical expertise.
