Session: The Cloud Gold Rush: How Businesses Manage Data in a Cloud-First World
Cloud is increasingly seen as a key IT strategy for businesses, as over 90% of enterprises are shifting to a multi-cloud strategy according to a study by The 451 Group. Not only are businesses adopting the cloud more, they are also increasing their use of cloud resources by shifting from a “cloud transformation” strategy to a “cloud first” strategy where any new resources are added first in the cloud, not in a data center. How will core enterprise workloads, particularly their large unstructured data sets, move to the cloud? This talk examines the impact of a cloud-first strategy and the goldmine it creates for data management in the cloud.

Krishna Subramanian, COO Komprise
Krishna Subramanian has built three successful venture-backed IT businesses and held senior leadership positions at major companies such as Sun Microsystems and Citrix. She has over three decades of industry experience in cloud computing and data management.
She is currently the co-founder and COO of Komprise, the leader in analytics-driven data management software. Komprise enables enterprises to address the two biggest problems they face with data – how to manage today’s massive data growth and how to unlock the business value of data. The software is used by leading enterprises across the globe and IBM, HPE and AWS are strategic worldwide resellers.
Prior to Komprise, Ms Subramanian was the VP Marketing for Cloud Platforms at Citrix, where she led the desktop and cloud computing marketing and business development for three years. Prior to Citrix, she was Co-founder and COO of Kaviza, which was acquired by Citrix,
Before founding Kaviza, Ms Subramanian led the cloud computing strategy and acquisitions for Sun Microsystems as its Sr. Director Corporate Development and Cloud. She led five acquisitions for Sun during her tenure that contributed to over half a billion dollars in revenues. The acquisitions were in the areas of security, identity management, data warehousing and cloud computing. Prior to Sun, Ms Subramanian was Co-Founder and CEO of Kovair, a venture backed startup that was acquired. Subramanian holds a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
