Session: Agile Principles and Strategies that Matter in Disruptive Times
Casey Jones joined Buckle, an inclusive tech-enabled financial services company, as marketing project manager six months prior to the onset of the pandemic. When COVID hit, Buckle experienced disruption in every aspect of the organization. Unfortunately, the company underwent a significat reduction in workforce, and IT and product development were hit hard. Casey took over as scrum master, project manager, and some product owner responsibilities of the technology team. She proactively stepped into a leadership role of managing the team’s work, guiding and aligning their software development efforts with Buckle’s business priorities – all with little formal training in Agile methodologies. Her efforts landed her on the shortlist for the 2021 Women in IT USA Awards for the prestigious Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award.
