Alison Alexander
Co-Founder, COO & Director of Ethics and Social PolicyTransforming Data Storage with Blockchain
Imagine a shift in perspective where your persistent data is anchored securely on Blockchain. What could this mean for international movements and eligibility verifications? Could this be the beginning of a revolution in how we manage and validate our identities?
Using Blockchain to Determine Eligibility
Let's picture the scene of arriving in a foreign country, being able to instantly assert your nationality via the blockchain, and immediately establish your eligibility to stay. With current systems, individuals placed in hotels for identity checks are prohibited from working. But what if it didn't have to be this way?
Unleashing Professional Individuals with Blockchain
Perhaps many people moving into a new country already have professions, such as being a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, or an assistant. Suppose their certificates of qualification were stored on the Blockchain. They could immediately demonstrate their skills and competence, continue their professional contributions, and potentially start working while their residency documentation is under review.
Blockchain offers the potential to empower individuals and enable contributions to their lives and the broader community. It's not just a technology - it is an instrument for societal progress.
Exploring the New Digital Web 3.0 Domains

To be able to work through whether you are eligible to stay in this country. Actually, what if we were to look at that differently? What if your data was stored on the Blockchain? And therefore when you arri arrived in the country, you would be able to demonstrate straight away your nationality and then it could be worked out if you were eligible to stay in the country. Because one of the things that happens when somebody gets placed in a hotel and their identity to be checked um is that they're not allowed to work. Now, people have come into the country and they already have a profession. And I think if that person's certificates of qualification were placed on the Blockchain, they could arrive in the country. And whilst their documentation was being checked as to whether they could stay in the country, actually, they can still take up employment as a doctor, as a lawyer, as a teacher, as a help assist or any of those. And this is where the book chain to get it to work for us more. This is a way that we could empower individuals and enable them to actually contribute towards their own life and to the community. The Blockchain is a tool to assist us to do this.
