Job Description and Requirements

We are looking for a functional safety analysis & verification engineer to join our Solutions Technology team. You will be part of the team that defines the strategy for our advanced platforms solutions. You will be at the center of collaborations and partnerships with several groups across Synopsys to leverage synergies across EDA tools, IPs, System Solutions and other functions.

We are seeking an engineer with expertise in functional verification (dynamic simulation, debug), fault injection/simulation,  formal and static verification including Low power.

You will work globally with internal product development teams, solution engineers, and external customers to ensure that functional safety analysis & verification solutions are robust and deployable on production designs.  You will also be involved with the Synopsys field organization to ensure successful deployments with customers.

The Functional Safety Analysis & Verification Engineer is responsible for:

  • Conducting technical assessment of functional safety solutions.
  • Working with Synopsys' customers to understand their Verification needs and requirements for functional safety
  • Defining technical requirement specifications needed to make the solution complete, robust and/or competitive
  • Collaborating with Product Managers & Solutions Marketing to prioritize enhancements for product teams
  • Collaborating with internal product development teams to ensure that enhancements meet original requirements
  • Collaborate with product validation engineers to ensure that new features are validated and delivered with high quality to customers.
  • Deliver collaterals such as training, reference methodology, and application notes to share best practices and recommended usage
  • Work with Field Application Engineers & account teams to deploy functional safety solutions
  • Present new solutions and methodologies to customers based on the need
  • Use in-depth solution knowledge to provide technical expertise, and assist with the diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues during evaluation and solution deployment

 
Requirements

  • BSEE or MSEE with minimum 10 years of experience in design analysis and verification, including expertise of EDA tools for verification, formal and static verification
  • 3- 5 years of experience in the functional safety domain is preferred, including knowledge in functional safety mechanisms deployed on IPs or SoC designs to detect and prevent failures
  • Experience using ISO26262 qualified products developed for semiconductors in automotive domain is preferred
  • Knowledge in HDL languages - Verilog, VHDL and System Verilog
  • Experience with Low power designs preferred
  • Have strong motivation to improve semiconductor functional safety.
  • Functional safety certification (ISO26262) is desired
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Unix/Linux user knowledge and scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Shell) are required

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $157,000 to $235,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
