The Role

You won't just offer support; you'll orchestrate system setup and installation, ensuring all components are working appropriately. Responsibilities includes will Audit Backup Policies and environments to ensure integrity of Backup & Restore activities .Pro-actively determine possible faults by execution of predetermined health and operational checks to provide the highest backup success rate. Participate in recovery activities when required. Analyze and resolve escalated problem with in target timelines. Perform Hardware/Software fault detection and perform coordination and timely follow-up with OEM for issue resolution. Upgrade backup software, apply patches, and ensure physical security of data nstallation, Updating and configuration of Master Media and clients using IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect for Windows servers and Linux servers. Extensively worked on various Backup Integration like Oracle, SQl, VMware .Administering TSM / Spectrum Protect Master and Media servers and Dedup Appliances. Policy creation & scheduling of backups on different clients (Windows, UNIX, Linux etc.) & applications (Oracle, SQL, etc.)Backup & Recovery using IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect for all above OS and applications. Administration and troubleshooting skills on: TSM / Spectrum Protect. Experience in Tape Library management , VTL’s like HP Store once and troubleshooting and firmware upgradation .Backup Schedule Monitoring & Management & Reporting .Maintain and Update compliance documents periodically .Manage data movement within Backup Servers. Participate and Lead in SEV1 incidents and Prepare RCA for SEV1 issues with respect to Backup and perform capacity planning and backup & restore performance tuning.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in Backup Domain with atleast 7 years relevant SME /L3 experience in TSM / Spectrum Protect
  • Experience of Installing/Configuring TSM / Spectrum Protect Master, Client and Media Servers and Experience on Unix Platform esp Red Hat Linux and Windows
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to explain technical issues in both a factual and well-structured manner
  • Experience in medium to large IT infrastructure across multiple data center and Effective communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of enterprise level change, incident, and problem management process and Experience of TSM / Spectrum Protect Virtual Environments Backup and Recovery
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other teams and Scripting knowledge on Shell/Awk/Ansible
  • Experience of Installing/Configuring/Upgrading TSM / Spectrum Protect and Automation – Integration with Ticketing tool
  • You Should have performed Implementation, Configuration, Migration and Steady State support phases of the Backup Management

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of TSM / Spectrum Protect architecture and inter process communication and flow
  • Knowledge of data-deduplication w,r.t to TSM / Spectrum Protect and Knowledge of TSM / Spectrum Protect DB, Log, Server and Client Options
  • Knowledge of TSM / Spectrum Protect Replication implementation and management and Knowledge on VTL/Cloud Storage for data storage purposes in AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Knowledge on configuring NAS backup and storage pools and Knowledge on Cluster concepts and HADR

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (BE, BTech, MCA)
