To truly embrace flexibility, it's crucial to be equitable and recognize that there's no one-size-fits-all work arrangement. The more adaptable an organization is, the better it can meet diverse needs. Implementing varied work arrangements requires trust, autonomy, and mutual understanding. Employers need to acknowledge that their employees, particularly women managing family responsibilities, have lives beyond work. Women should never feel forced to choose between their careers, families, and other personal obligations. The whole person must be considered.

Additionally, I want to challenge a common misconception: the idea that a four-day in-office week, plus remote Fridays, constitutes a flexible, hybrid working arrangement. This is not the case. It's rigid and merely extends the traditional 'summer Friday' concept. True flexibility accommodates different needs and promotes actual work-life balance—or, for some, work-life integration.
