Session: Is Quantum Computing the Platform for Your STEM Success?
As a woman working on the cutting edge of tech, I have not always been met with enthusiasm by my male counterparts. I was often the only woman in the room, which has given me a very unique perspective on how women can take control to create new opportunities to thrive in the world of advanced technology.As we all know, women have always been at the forefront of STEM, unacknowledged, but key drivers of innovation. As women gain more recognition in the workplace, advanced technologies offer unique and powerful opportunities for women to step up to visibly lead key innovations that dramatically change our world.
This talk will focus on the opportunities presented by quantum computing, the most revolutionary paradigm shift we’ve ever witnessed, well at least since the advent of the semiconductor. We’ll ask and answer questions including:
What is quantum computing, what is the big buzz about and what’s the potential value we can all leverage for our own careers?
What are the challenges facing quantum computing and how can you step up to help solve them?
What skills are needed and how do you acquire them?
What opportunities are out there, how do you find them and how do you position yourself within the quantum computer ecosystem?
I’ll also share my top 3 tips for controlling the chaos that comes from any new paradigm shift or change.

Rebel Brown is a recognized technology strategist with over 30 years of global experience working with leading edge innovators, investors and owners. She is a go-to-market guru whose strategies have led to dramatic and successful results for over 75 startups and 200 high-tech and complex B2B technology companies globally.Currently, Rebel is Vice President of Strategy for Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI), the only provider of ready-to-run quantum software for complex computations. She is responsible for overarching go-to-market and product strategy, as well as product marketing, investor and media relations and marketing operations. In March 2021, Rebel closed her consulting business of 30 years after working for the QCI team as a consultant. The opportunity to be involved at the outset in quantum computing, along with the company’s unique and compelling vision were too attractive to say no.
