Job Description

The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor, providing finance functional leadership and support to a small and fast-growing startup in the health and wellness domain within HP Inc. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who exemplifies ownership, enjoys delivering impact in fast-paced environments, is a world-class partner to leaders and teams, and goes beyond the numbers and think creatively.

 

Responsibilities:

Perform qualitative and quantitative (data-driven) analyses to solve problems and evaluate value creation initiatives, unit economics, and risk mitigation strategies, exercising a strong understanding of the business

Develop and maintain accurate near- and long-term financial operating plans, providing updated projections for key revenue streams and expenditures

Responsible for building robust financial models for internal valuations and potential acquisition opportunities

Consult with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope

Lead business initiatives, typically leading analysts across multiple sub-functions within finance

Identify opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in the design

Represent the business unit during cross-regional or cross- functional planning processes

Provide mentoring and guidance to analysts

 

 

 

Requirements:

First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred

6-10 years of experience in strategic finance, finance, business operations, and/or top investment banking, management consulting, or venture capital firm

Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including advanced Excel skills

Experience assessing contractual arrangements, supporting pricing analysis and multiple business models (e.g., instrument/reagents, re-agent model, pay per test, etc.)

Ability to build a P&L for new products based on target pricing, cost plus or other appropriate methodologies

Able to identify key financial and non-financial risks, recommending actions for mitigation of those risks

Experience with strategy development & execution, e.g., target market identification, sizing, segmentation & growth, synergy analysis, and diligence 

Build consensus and present recommendations (written and oral) to senior management

Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and teamwork are vital. Must maintain robust multitasking abilities, service-oriented personality, be stress resistant, and possess an intellectual curiosity with an investigative mind

Familiarity with Startups and Startup work environments a big plus

Experience in the healthcare industry is desired
