DevOps Engineer

Job Description: 

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team and help build innovative open source software in the container space. As part of the Container Platform team, you will be a key player in delivering solutions enriching the user experience of cloud-native platforms such as Kubernetes and making the life easier for people running containerized workloads. 

We are part of the SUSE Rancher group responsible for the flagship SUSE Rancher product. We build open source software that addresses the operational and security challenges of managing cloud native platforms, while providing DevOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads. SUSE Rancher has over 100 million downloads to-date and is managing mission critical services at Fortune 500 companies and many other organizations large and small around the world.

Responsibilities 

• Provide engineering and operational support for the engineering team’s infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms as well as customer facing services applications 

• Manage the distributed build system supporting multiple engineering teams 

• Work closely with engineering to maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently

Knowledge and Skills 

• Experience in cloud operations and associated systems like Terraform, Ansible, etc. 

• Experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Drone, etc. 

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.  

• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.  

• Strong scripting and automation skills across Linux ecosystems.  

• Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills while being self-reliant for tasks. 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Bonus Qualifications 

• Experience with Kubernetes and Windows 

• Experience with open source development 

• Experience working with a distributed team. You will be expected to engage with team members across many time zones and cultures.
