Staff Database Administrator

Synopsys is looking for a bright candidate with a strong background in database management and is comfortable working as a member of a globally diverse team. This position is open in the quality automation team located in the Yerevan, Armenia branch of Synopsys. The successful candidate will work with a team in developing scripts and will provide leadership in configuring DB tools for defined use cases. Script development, also part of the job description, is related to automated data gathering, data analysis, and dashboard reporting of results.

Main Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain of NoSQL (not only SQL) database servers as standalone and clustered servers, in all environments.
• Automate database tasks (created jobs, alerts, and schedules for database maintenance tasks).
• Create documentation for installation, monitoring procedures, security policies, configuration changes, and best practices.
• Plan and build support systems, implement best practices/methodologies and continuous improvement programs that result in improved quality of operations.
• Write scripts in python and bash.
• Apply the knowledge of a variety of tool APIs to enable the extraction, movement, and synchronization of data.
• Other related tasks as may be defined.

Key Requirements:

• Degree from a University degree program, such as Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• 4+ years of experience in database configuration and management.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Working knowledge of office productivity programs such as Microsoft Office or equivalent.
• Familiarity with installation and configuration of databases, clients etc.
