Lab Technician
This is a Defined Term Employment contract from June 27th through October 27th.

Role Summary:
The Lab Technician will operate semiconductor test equipment and run test programs to collect data for engineering reports. Will also maintain equipment calibration and lab cleanliness, order test lab supplies, and manage the storage and shipping of test chip devices.




Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Operate semiconductor test equipment; run characterization and qualification test programs.
  2. Manage ATE tester schedules and interface with Product/Test Engineers to support the device test requirements of multiple projects; ability to interpret datalogs to determine basic pass/fail information and make decisions on further testing.
  3. Follow test plan/instructions, interpret datalogs to fix basic test problems, report issues to Product/Test Engineers.
  4. Maintain test equipment calibration, supplies and lab cleanliness.
  5. Manage the serialization, shipping, storage and yield reporting of test chip inventory.
  6. Be able to work in lab environment with higher noise level compared to typical office environment due to thermal and compressor equipment.
  7. Need manual dexterity/stamina to load/unload devices in test sockets and bake ovens. Need to lift/move boards, devices, boxes (need to climb 2-3 ft ladder to access device boxes on storage shelves).  Need to move Temptronic and manipulate the thermal head.
  8. Be able to work independently and mostly unsupervised with evening/weekend shifts; often being the only employee in the lab and office.


Required Qualifications:

  • hands-on experience in running electronic test equipment in a test environment
  • Needs to be proactive, motivated – with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with following test procedures
  • Experience with MS Office tools
  • Experience with operating ATE tester and thermal equipment
  • Basic test lab skills: ESD handling, loadboard/socket troubleshooting, soldering


Education:
Minimum high-school graduate
Technician/technologist graduate preferred
