Roles Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Springer Nature Research Integrity Group to drive research integrity queries towards resolution.
  • Familiarizing yourself with different types of research integrity and publication ethics concerns in order to be able to best process correspondence with stakeholders. 
  • Provide best-practice advice and action plans for resolutions of cases to in-house staff and external editors.
  • Ensuring your work complies with relevant Springer Nature policies, COPE guidelines and industry best practice. 
  • Ability to triage and identify urgent matters, like potential legal threats and take appropriate action. 
  • Managing your workload to meet targets, rapidly reprioritizing as urgent matters arise. 
  • Proactively contributing to meetings and commit to completing actions assigned to you.
  • Responsible for managing incoming correspondence with authors and other stakeholders, ensuring that all correspondence gets sorted and flagged appropriately.
  • Preparing outgoing correspondence with authors and other stakeholders following instructions and templates. 
  • Responsible for escalating certain queries to the Research Integrity Manager, Research Integrity Specialist or buddy  in the Research Integrity Group as appropriate.
  • Tackling difficult situations through quick logical response and effective communication.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)  provided by the Research Integrity Managers
  • Actively providing feedback on SOPs to ensure continuous improvement.

Experience, skills and qualifications

Experience

2+ years

As Research integrity support coordinator

Preferred experience:3 to 4 years with a scholarly publisher

Qualification

Educated to graduate or postgraduate level.

Skills

  • Strong communication (written and oral) skills and excellent English language skills;
  • Familiarity with publication ethics and research integrity issues, and a passion for quality control;
  • Quick learner and a logical thinker
  • Will have to be flexible enough to learn new projects at a short notice
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders of any background, seniority or level of experience;
  • A high level of computer literacy including knowledge of and experience with Office applications and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, analytical and time-management skills, with superior attention to detail;
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem-solving and task management;
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
