Be a driving force behind platform lifecycle management and the design & implementation of on-prem infrastructure and IaaS. Included in the focus areas is the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the infrastructure, cloud providers, cloud monitoring, deployment & provisioning tools. Lead the effort on IaaS and technology investigations for delivering innovative, high SLA services to GE customers in a multi-location environment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Design, Test and deliver infrastructure to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of infrastructure in cloud and on-prem.
• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale Infrastructure for critical DnA reporting tools (BOXI, OAS, Tableau, Power-BI, and more).
• Be a driving force behind platform lifecycle (scale, security, user accounts, licenses, upgrades/patching etc).
• Be able to work with advanced automated Infrastructure deployment frameworks.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in design and support of Windows and Linux based servers.

Technical Expertise

• Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals (PaaS/SaaS/DaaS and on-prem).
• Understands concepts of setting and driving infrastructure standards and governance with strong emphasis to security, quality and compliance (SOX/ITIL etc).
• Understands architecture standards concepts to apply to project work
• Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems (processes, threads, concurrency issues, monitors and how they work).
