One thing I’ve learned over time is that emotional intelligence is one of the most underrated strengths in building meaningful professional relationships. High EQ allows you to communicate with empathy, manage your own emotions, and truly understand where others are coming from, especially in high pressure or fast-moving environments. In networking, this means listening more than speaking, reading the room, and responding with intention rather than reaction. When people feel seen, respected, and understood, trust forms naturally. Strong EQ doesn’t just help maintain relationships, it turns connections into long-term partnerships that are both genuine and productive.
