Session: Sorry, what did you say? Perfect retorts to everyday sexism with The Unfairer Sex Podcast
It's 2024, and no matter how high up the corporate ladder you climb, the sexist comments keep on coming. So how are we, as professional women, navigating these moments?
Inspired by that annoying feeling you get when you leave a conversation and the perfect retort pops into your head, Eloisa and Rhiannon (as well as two other professional women) started a podcast called The Unfairer Sex. Each episode starts with a 'sorry, what did you say' moment, which sees us explore every day sexism and/or misogyny and different ways to navigate these moments if/when they arise. We don't want people to get fired – in fact, quite the opposite. We want to give people the tools they need to advocate for themselves in a way that remains professional but inspires change or the start of a solution.
Having spent a combined 15+ years working in tech, this session will focus on 3 common 'sorry, what did you say' moments specific to the tech industry.
