Role: 
The Synopsys Solutions Group is seeking an experienced documentation engineer to help maintain and enhance our documentation flows and take responsibility for production. The successful candidate will own and support the current tools and flows, evaluate new tools and flows, and propose improvements to increase customer availability and usability of our information assets while serving as the primary resource for the generation of customer-ready output.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for a motivated and innovative candidate to join our team. Responsibilities to automate  documentation flow include:

  • Own, develop, and support the documentation generation flows and platforms
  • Evaluate our current toolchain, suggest changes, and manage projects to update the toolchain with creativity and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Experience with open-source platforms and tools for “Docs-as-Code,” including Git, Python, LaTex, Doxygen, reStructuredText/Sphinx, AsciiDoc, and at least one markdown language
  • Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and technologies (such as Jenkins).
  • Self-sufficiency with *nix command line
  • Proven track record of automating documentation flows
  • 2+ years of experience in the software industry
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Ability to formulate and ask pertinent questions to establish customer use models and context for using tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and flexibly with global teams.
  • Experience communicating with non-native English speakers.
  • Ability to make choices, reprioritize on short notice, and foster teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
  • Experience with the semiconductor microprocessor industry or software tools for the microprocessors: compilers/debuggers/SDKs.
  • Experience with GitLab/GitHub.
  • Knowledge of HTML (for troubleshooting).
  • Skill in adapting materials written by non-native English speakers.

Additional Skills Preferred

  • Experience developing and/or documenting applications using programming languages/APIs (such as Python, assembly, C/C++)
  • Good to have: Understand Python code to extend/support Sphinx infrastructure
  • Experience with defect tracking systems, such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with standard style guides and their recommendations.
